Study of Fano resonance and its application in MIM waveguide using a k-shaped resonator

In this paper, a plasmonic MIM waveguide consisting of k-shaped resonant cavity is designed, which can support three Fano resonances. The physical mechanisms behind the multiple resonances are studied with help field distributions and changes geometric parameters. Further, by varying refractive index dielectric medium filled in air part waveguide, property sensing studied. maximum sensitivity up to 1250 nm/RIU figure merit more than 4000. Eventually slow-light effect also investigated, results show that optical delay group about 0.05 ps 9.23, respectively. All may provide some fundamental references for design devices, it will have potential applications areas such as nanoscale sensing, effects, photonic device integration, so on.

We study resonant light scattering in arrays of channel optical waveguides in which tunable quadratic non-linearity is introduced as nonlinear defects by periodic poling of single (or several) waveguides in the array. We describe novel features of wave scattering that can be observed in this structure and show that it is a good candidate for observation of Fano resonance in nonlinear optics.
